In Honor of National Poetry Month

The back of my front door:

Okay, so I ran out of space on the refrigerator.
You have to click on the picture for a bigger version so you can read the poem I made without squinting.

PULSE BLOGFEST

Hi!

I'll be one of 120 authors participating in the Pulse Blogfest put on by Simon & Schuster between March 14 and March 27. Each day authors will answer a question selected from those submitted by teen readers, and there will be a place for you to make comments. All the authors will not answer all the question, but there should be quite a few posting every day at the Blogfest site. Some authors will respond to comments if they aren't on the road or busy with other obligations. I'll try to check in each day.

Where I'll be in March 2008

I'm going to try and post more often honestly.

Anyway, this March I'll be a guest at ConBust the annual science fiction/fantasy convention at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. The convention runs from March 28 to March 30. I hope you'll come to see me there.

Finally, "Kissing Dead Boys" Recognized.

The September School Library Journal has a lovely review of my story in The Restless Dead. Here's the part I liked best:

The third story, "Kissing Dead Boys," however, is classic Annette Curtis Klause and it alone may be worth the price of the book. Klause takes the tired-sexy-vampire and vampire-hunter conventions and makes them fresh in just 14 pages.

Woohoo! Finally! Much better than the Booklist review which said nice things then attributed my story to someone else. Yikes!

Giving Movies Another Chance

I've signed a contract for a movie of The Silver Kiss. It's likely to be a TV movie if it ever gets made. (These things are always iffy.) I should be jaded after my Blood and Chocolate experience, but who knows--maybe next time someone will get it right.

Kissing Dead Boys

My story “Kissing Dead Boys” is now out in an anthology called The Restless Dead from Candlewick Press and edited by Deborah Noyes. (ISBN: 978-0763629069) There are ten stories in the collection and I’m in great company. Other authors include Holly Black, Kelly Link, M.T. Anderson, and Libba Bray.
